Welcome to Threads and Tangles
I’m Lee Vause—award-winning quilter, longarm quilting specialist, textile and mixed media artist, Accredited Victorian Quilters Teacher, and Accredited Quilt Judge.
Creativity has been a constant thread throughout my life. What began with sewing dance costumes for my daughters evolved into a passion for patchwork and quilting, and today has grown into a vibrant creative practice that combines traditional craftsmanship with contemporary textile and mixed media art.
From my studio at Threads and Tangles, I provide professional longarm quilting services, create original textile and mixed media artworks, and share my knowledge through teaching and mentoring. My work has been featured in books and magazines, and I have had the privilege of teaching students throughout Australia and internationally.
At heart, I am a lifelong learner. I love exploring new ideas, experimenting with techniques, and discovering fresh ways to combine fabric, texture, colour, and design. Whether I’m quilting a treasured heirloom, creating an artwork, or teaching a new skill, my goal is always the same—to inspire creativity and celebrate the joy of making.
When I’m not in the studio, you’ll often find me ballroom or line dancing, or enjoying another passion: breeding and exhibiting Bantam chickens and eggs.
Thank you for visiting. I invite you to explore my galleries, learn more about my services, and join me in celebrating the endless possibilities of creativity.
